Four months ago we participated to Wine&Land 2011, a promotional event organized by the Apulian Tourism Wine Movement at Masseria Maizza in Savelletri di Fasano. On that occasion, we met a lot of foreign buyers and above all we had the pleasure to meet Jennifer Ceaser.
Jennifer is a journalist and she writes for, among the others, The New York Post and for The Huffington Post – the best online newspaper in the USA. In it, she published (in the “Travel” section) an interesting article, “Kick up your heels down in the South of Italy”, describing Apulian landscapes, our masserie, the typical products of our region and all those initiatives connected to the wine world. Among these, the original “When you Want”, an initiative that was conceived by us and that was presented last February in Milan on the occasion of Bit (Internationl Tourism Exchange).
Underlining the difficulties many tourists have in finding fancy tasting rooms or regular visiting hours at Apulian wineries, because of the need to call ahead – at least a week before in many cases – for an appointment, she dwells upon the aforesaid initiative and, consequently, upon the possibility for those who love wine to come to our winery at any time, even, by appointment, at night. An initiative – as she writes – our winery has taken it a step further by, in a land where, in spite of the excellent reds from Negroamaro and Primitivo, wine tourism hasn’t really caught on.
Therefore, we invite all the wine lovers to taste our “excellent reds”, and all those who are keen of Puglia to rediscover it by reading an article by one of the best American journalists.
